The opportunity

Are you an experienced Passive Fire Supervisor ready to step up, a Site Manager looking to progress, or a hands-on Project Manager seeking your next opportunity? Hawkes Resourcing Group is recruiting on behalf of an established, growing contractor delivering passive fire protection works within social housing and residential properties. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day site delivery across fire door installation and maintenance, fire stopping and associated remedial works. You will be the Senior Project Manager’s eyes and ears on site, keeping teams organised, monitoring progress and ensuring work meets the required quality and safety standards. Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily delivery of passive fire protection works, including fire doors, fire stopping and remedial works.
  • Organise operatives, supervisors and subcontractors to maintain safe and efficient progress.
  • Plan labour, materials and access arrangements in line with project programmes.
  • Monitor workmanship and carry out site checks, ensuring defects and snagging are resolved.
  • Maintain accurate site records, photographic evidence and compliance documentation.
  • Keep the Senior Project Manager updated on progress, risks, delays and resource requirements.
  • Liaise professionally with clients and residents, coordinating access and resolving site issues.
  • Maintain site health and safety standards, including RAMS, inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Monitor costs, identify variations and contribute to commercial and progress reporting.
  • Support completion, handover and sign-off of works.

About you

You will have practical experience delivering passive fire protection, fire door or fire stopping works within social housing or residential settings. We welcome applications from:

You should also bring:

  • Experience leading operatives and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Strong organisation and programme management skills.
  • An understanding of installation quality, compliance documentation and safe working practices.
  • Commercial awareness, including costs, budgets and variations.
  • Familiarity with relevant fire safety requirements and third-party certification schemes, such as BM TRADA Q-Mark or Certifire.
  • Clear communication skills and confidence dealing with clients, residents and colleagues.
  • The ability to work independently, solve problems and escalate issues appropriately.

Qualifications and training

The role specification includes:

  • NVQ Level 6.
  • SMSTS.
  • Health and safety awareness for managers.
  • Asbestos awareness.
  • Manual handling and working at height training.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Construction Certificate would be advantageous.
