We are expanding our design team and are currently seeking an Intermediate or Senior Cladding Designer to join an established team of three designers. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of façade projects, primarily within the M25.
About the Role
This is a hybrid position, combining office-based work from a North Greenwich office, remote working, and regular site visits. Projects are predominantly UK-based, with occasional overnight stays required.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or equivalent relevant experience
- Intermediate level: 3–4 years UK cladding design experience
- Senior level: 5+ years UK cladding design experience
- Proven experience specifically in cladding design (Curtain walling-only experience will not be considered)
Skills & Requirements
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, PDF software, and Microsoft Office / Outlook (3D AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Bluebeam are advantageous)
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work semi-autonomously from verbal, written, or sketched instructions
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Cladding systems, panels, insulation, fixings, fire barriers, and membranes
- Fire barrier design and fixing types
- Fabrication drawings
- U-values and condensation risk analysis for external wall construction
- Up to 2 projects simultaneously (Intermediate)
- 3+ projects simultaneously (Senior)
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution focused
Portfolio Requirement: Applicants must submit a PDF portfolio of sample cladding drawings. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce cladding construction detail drawings
- Prepare elevations, plans, fire barrier, and site investigation drawings
- Panel and sub-grid setting-out drawings
- Material take-offs and coordination with the Commercial team
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and photographic records
- Attend design and progress meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and Building Control
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain specifications, confirmations, U-values, and condensation calculations
- Coordinate with client representatives, structural engineers, consultants, and site teams
- Maintain project documentation, drawing registers, RFIs, and change logs
- Issue technical submissions and revised drawings to clients
- Participate in weekly internal design meetings
- Engage in supplier-led CPDs and continuous professional development
Office & Site Commitment
- Office attendance: Minimum one day per week (travel not reimbursed)
- Site visits: Minimum one per week, workload dependent (expenses reimbursed)

- Intermediate Designer: £39,000 – £50,000
- Senior Designer: £55,000 – £60,000
