Quantity Surveyor – Specialist Location: Central London Salary: £55,000–£65,000, with flexibility up to £70,000 for an exceptional candidate Take ownership of the commercial performance of specialist interior projects across London. Hawkes Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor for an established specialist contractor delivering high-quality tiling, stone and interior packages. Based in Central London, you’ll manage your own projects through procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts. Working closely with operational teams and clients, you’ll be responsible for controlling costs, managing change and protecting project margins. The business has an established reputation and a strong project pipeline, offering scope to apply your commercial experience across a varied portfolio of London projects. Monday to Friday working, 40 hours per week. The role Your responsibilities will include: * Taking commercial responsibility for multiple live projects. * Procuring subcontract packages and managing supplier enquiries. * Preparing and submitting applications for payment and valuations. * Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations. * Producing accurate cost reports and forecasts. * Monitoring expenditure, commercial risks and project margins. * Managing subcontractor accounts. * Leading commercial discussions with clients. * Preparing, negotiating and agreeing final accounts. * Working closely with project teams to resolve commercial issues. About you You’ll be an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is confident managing projects independently, maintaining accurate forecasts and handling commercial negotiations. A specialist subcontracting background would be particularly useful. Experience in flooring, fit-out, joinery, drylining, interiors, tiling or stone would transfer well. Direct tiling or stone experience is welcome, but it is not essential. You’ll need a sound understanding of specialist packages and the ability to manage their commercial delivery from procurement through to final account.
