They provide M&E services to a wide range of clients across Commercial, Education, MOJ, Healthcare and Industrial sectors throughout Essex and London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing maintenance works and small to medium-sized M&E projects mainly in education, typically up to £50k–£250k in value.
The Role
As the M&E Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical and/or electrical projects from handover through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of M&E maintenance and small works projects up to £250,000.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key clients.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare quotations, cost plans and project programmes.
- Oversee site operatives and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet client deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure all works comply with current M&E regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation and reporting.
- Ensure smooth project handover and provide aftercare support where required.
- Liaise closely with the large projects division to support workload and resource planning.
- Support business development through repeat work and client relationship management.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within Mechanical or Electrical services.
- Strong overall knowledge of M&E systems and installation methods.
- Experience managing maintenance contracts and installation projects up to £50k–£250k.
- Ability to manage projects from conception to completion, including quoting, procurement and delivery.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Valid SMSTS or SSSTS and CSCS Gold Card.
- Relevant Mechanical or Electrical industry qualifications.
Desirable:
- Experience working within Commercial, Healthcare, Education or Industrial environments.
- Knowledge of compliance and statutory testing requirements.
- Experience working with planned and reactive maintenance contracts.
