Hawkes are working with an established and growing contractor looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to take ownership of the commercial function within the business. We are looking for someone commercially sharp, proactive and confident who can work closely with the senior management team while providing strong commercial leadership across multiple projects.
The ideal candidate could come from a flooring, tiling, interiors or specialist subcontractor background, although we would also be very interested in speaking with Commercial Managers or experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors from a main contractor environment.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring margins are protected and commercial risks are identified and managed properly.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the commercial function across multiple projects
- Managing project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow
- Preparing and agreeing valuations, variations and final accounts
- Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks
- Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts
