A leading façade and cladding design consultancy based in London is seeking a skilled Cladding Designer or Senior Cladding Designer to join their expanding team. The company specialises in delivering technically sound, practical and innovative building envelope solutions across high-profile projects throughout London and surrounding areas.
This position is office-based in North Greenwich, with regular site visits. It offers a great opportunity for a proactive and technically competent designer who is eager to grow professionally and contribute to major construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D drawings, including elevations, sections, construction details, and setting-out drawings
- Create material take-offs and assist with procurement processes
- Attend site surveys and capture measurements and photographic records
- Liaise with suppliers and stakeholders to verify technical specifications
- Raise and manage design changes, RFIs, and technical queries
- Maintain digital drawing records and technical databases
- Prepare and submit technical documentation and submittals
- Attend project coordination and design review meetings
- Stay updated on industry best practices and participate in technical training
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience in the field
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cladding or façade design (5+ years for Senior level)
- Based in the UK and able to commute to North Greenwich
- Full right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
- Strong 2D AutoCAD skills; knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and PDF editing software is advantageous
- Good knowledge of rainscreens, insulation, membranes, fixings, and fire safety components
- Strong technical sketching abilities (both hand-drawn and digital)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively
- Familiarity with drawing standards, layout practices, dimensions, layers, and blocks in AutoCAD
- Driving licence preferred
- Must provide a PDF portfolio of recent sample drawings
