Quantity Surveyor – Decorating & Refurbishment

A well-established and growing decorating contractor based in Brentwood is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

Working across London and the Home Counties, you’ll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple decorating and refurbishment projects across sectors including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and public sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected business with a strong order book, long-standing client relationships and genuine opportunities for progression.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the commercial delivery of multiple decorating and refurbishment projects.
  • Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
  • Producing cost reports and forecasts.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and payments.
  • Negotiating variations and change control.
  • Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks.
  • Liaising closely with Contracts Managers, Estimators and Directors.
  • Maintaining positive client relationships throughout projects.
  • Supporting the successful financial delivery of contracts.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Decorating, painting, refurbishment or specialist subcontractor experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of JCT contracts.
  • Ability to manage several live projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Commercially aware with strong attention to detail.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
