Our client, a well‑established manufacturing business, is seeking a Slitting Machine Operator to join their growing team in Westbury. Role

Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest quality standards in line with customer expectations. As a Slitting Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery to cut master coils into narrower size reels ready for introduction into the production process. The department has 4 machines and the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability and attitude to learn to run all four machines on a rotational basis, order and maintain materials, inspect production to ensure conformance to specifications and advise on maintenance issues.

Skills and Experience

  • The ideal candidate should have experience in running machinery / working within a similar role.
  • The successful applicant would be given full training in running, maintaining and changing over the four Slitting machines in the area.
  • An eye for detail and quality.
  • The ability to manage their own workflow in a key area, while keeping up with production demands.
  • A minimum of grade C or equivalent in Maths would be preferable.

Shift Pattern

The hours are 37.5 hours a week, over a 3‑rotating shift pattern that includes mornings, evenings and nights:

  • Monday‑Thursday: 8 hours, Weekly Rotation: Mornings: 6am‑2pm, Evenings: 2pm‑10pm, Nights: 10pm‑6am
  • Fridays: 5.5 hours, Weekly Rotation: Mornings: 6am‑11:30am, Evenings: 11:30‑5pm, Nights: 5pm‑10:30pm

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Weekly Salary, Paid every Thursday.
  • Possible overtime and attendance bonus.
