Are you an experienced Quality Supervisor looking for your next challenge? We are recruiting for our specialist manufacturing client in Chard to join their established production team at their Somerset factory. This is a key leadership position within a high-performing industrial environment, offering the opportunity to play a hands-on role in quality, production support, team development and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting a team of quality inspectors, including workload planning, coaching and development
- Managing inspection activities including dimensional checks, visual inspection, and non-destructive testing methods
- Investigating quality issues, managing non-conformities, and implementing corrective and preventative actions
- Maintaining accurate quality documentation and records
- Supporting customer quality enquiries, complaints and investigations
- Monitoring workflow, productivity and operational performance
- Supporting trials, process improvements, and new product introductions
- Ensuring alloy and material conformity through effective quality controls
- Training operators in inspection techniques, measurement equipment and quality procedures
About you:
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, casting, or foundry environment
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team
- A strong understanding of quality control processes and inspection methods
- Knowledge of manufacturing defects, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
- Familiarity with problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa or PDCA
- Understanding of quality standards and compliance requirements
- The ability to interpret technical information and work with production teams to resolve issues
