We are seeking an experienced Service Manager / Workshop Manager with a strong background in technician work to lead our busy Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) workshop in Swindon. Combining the backing of an established independent group with a supportive operational culture, we offer a £45,000–£50,000 basic salary, permanent Monday-to-Friday hours, clear leadership progression, and a collaborative environment focused on technical quality.

Your Role
As our Service Manager / Workshop Manager at our specialist LCV facility, you will take full operational responsibility for the daily running of the workshop:
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technicians, ensuring high productivity, strong morale, and quality control.
- Manage daily workflow, job allocations, labor utilization, and workshop KPIs to maintain clean operational efficiency.
- Liaise across departments, collaborating closely with service advisors, parts teams, and senior management to deliver exceptional customer journeys.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, health, and quality procedures, fostering an organized, professional LCV workshop environment.
What You Need
- Qualifications & Hands-On Experience: Proven technician experience on the tools is required, giving you deep practical understanding of commercial repair operations.
- Management Background: Proven track record as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager, Workshop Controller, or Senior Service Advisor ready to step up.
- Technical & Admin Skills: Strong background in automotive repair operations, labor planning, and garage management software systems.
- Leadership Style: Excellent team management, communication, and organizational skills with a calm, balanced approach under pressure.
- Licensing: A full UK driving licence is required.
