A long-standing independent service and repair specialist in Stoke-on-Trent is expanding its technical team and looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician. Known throughout Staffordshire for solving complex electrical issues, engine repairs, and multi-brand servicing, this modern facility provides a technician-first environment where quality repair work comes before rushed quotas.

  • Salary Range: £35,000 – £45,000 basic per annum (DOE) + team efficiency bonus
  • Working Schedule: Monday to Friday schedule + Saturdays on a fair team rota basis

Core Responsibilities

  • Carry out systematic diagnostic fault-finding across complex mechanical, electrical, and software systems
  • Perform major mechanical overhauls, including timing belts/chains, clutch replacements, gearbox builds, and suspension work
  • Complete scheduled servicing, multi-point health checks, and pre-MOT safety inspections
  • Record accurate technical findings on digital job sheets and brief front-of-house staff on job progress
  • Keep work bays clean, organized, and compliant with workshop health and safety standards

Candidate Profile

  • Technical Experience: Time-served mechanic with solid confidence in heavy mechanical work and diagnostic fault isolation
  • Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background)
  • MOT Status: Active MOT Tester licence is a strong asset for higher starting pay, but is not essential to apply
  • Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
