Monday to Friday | No weekends | Flexible hours | Premium independent workshop

Looking for better pay, better hours and more interesting work?

Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician or Mechanic who takes pride in doing the job properly?

We’re an expanding, premium, specialist, family-run independent workshop looking for a skilled mechanic to join our team.

We offer a refreshing alternative to the typical high-volume garage or corporate dealership. You’ll enjoy a varied workload, a supportive working environment and the freedom to use your skills without unnecessary management interference.

From routine servicing and fault-finding to major mechanical repairs, rebuilds and restoration projects, this is an opportunity to work on varied jobs where quality and craftsmanship genuinely matter.

If you want excellent earning potential, your weekends free and a workshop where your experience is valued, we’d love to hear from you.

What we offer

  • £40,000–£45,000 basic salary depending on experience and ability.
  • Bonus scheme offering the opportunity to increase your earnings.
  • Monday to Friday working with no regular weekend shifts.
  • Flexible working hours across a 40-hour week, with start and finish times agreed by arrangement.
  • Varied mechanical work rather than repetitive, high-volume servicing.
  • Premium independent workshop focused on quality workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Family-run business with a friendly, close-knit team and a straightforward working environment.
  • Trust and responsibility to manage your work and take pride in completed projects.
  • Uniform provided, casual dress policy and free on-site parking.
  • Immediate start available for the right candidate.

The role

You’ll be carrying out a varied range of mechanical work, including:

  • Vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
  • Fault-finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Major mechanical repairs and component replacements.
  • Rebuilds, restoration work and specialist projects.
  • Engine, transmission and drivetrain-related work, where required.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a consistently high standard.

You’ll have the opportunity to use your initiative, solve problems and see jobs through to completion, working both independently and alongside a small, experienced team.

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or similar.
  • Strong practical mechanical skills and fault-finding ability.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
  • A reliable, proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a small team.

Desirable:

  • Experience with complex repairs, rebuilds or restoration projects.
  • Knowledge of engines, transmissions and drivetrain systems.

  • Start and finish times: Flexible by agreement.
  • Weekends: No regular weekend working.

We’ll discuss your preferred working pattern during the interview.
