  • Salary Range: £35,000 – £45,000 basic per annum (DOE) + uncapped monthly efficiency bonus (An active MOT Tester licence is highly advantageous and commands an elevated starting salary!)
  • Working Schedule: Monday to Friday schedule (plus Saturdays on a fair rotating rota)

Core Responsibilities

  • Execute complex mechanical teardowns and rebuilds, including timing belts/chains, gearboxes, clutch assemblies, and engine overhauls
  • Harness brand-specific diagnostic software to systematically trace and resolve mechanical, electronic, and software faults
  • Perform routine servicing, safety evaluations, and thorough vehicle health checks (VHC) to manufacturer standards
  • Record detailed technical findings on digital job cards and communicate repair progress with service reception
  • Maintain pristine bay cleanliness, tool care, and strict adherence to workshop safety protocols

Candidate Profile

  • Technical Mastery: Proven confidence handling major mechanical overhauls alongside systematic fault tracing
  • Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served credential)
  • MOT Status: Holding a valid MOT Tester card is desirable for a higher starting rate, but is not essential to apply
  • Mindset: Quality-driven professional focused on clean workmanship and right-first-time standards
  • Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
