We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our independent workshop team in Wimbledon. Moving away from rigid main dealer targets, we offer a £36,000–£40,000 basic salary, permanent Monday-to-Friday hours (09:00–18:00, strictly no weekends), and an environment focused on technical quality over volume.

Your Role
As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Wimbledon workshop, you will:
- Execute heavy mechanical repairs, including clutches, timing belts (cambelts), and eco-boost wet belt replacements.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults across a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing, scheduled preventative maintenance, and comprehensive system repairs to high standards.
- Maintain precise digital job records and collaborate closely with the service management team and senior technicians.
What You Need
- Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) with a proven track record handling clutches, timing belts, and wet belt systems. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
- Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
- Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop repair tasks.
- Key Strengths: Strong diagnostic problem-solving skills, pride in quality mechanical workmanship, and a collaborative team attitude.
