About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a respected independent workshop based in Hitchin, specialising in high-performance and sports vehicles. This is an opportunity to work on premium and performance cars in an environment that prioritises quality over volume — without the pressures typically found in main dealerships.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vehicles including high-performance and sports cars
  • Perform diagnostics and fault finding using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Complete vehicle health checks and reports
  • Road test vehicles to ensure quality and performance
  • Maintain high standards of workshop cleanliness and safety
  • Work collaboratively with the team and support junior staff where required

Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Experience working with modern vehicle systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Good communication and teamworking skills
  • Experience with performance or prestige vehicles is advantageous
