Working out of a modern facility representing an industry-leading vehicle manufacturer, this position covers everything from routine retail servicing to complex diagnostic fault-finding and heavy mechanical overhauls.   • Salary Range: £35,000 – £45,000 basic per annum (DOE) + productivity efficiency scheme (An active MOT Tester licence is highly advantageous and commands an elevated starting salary!)
  • Working Schedule: Monday to Friday schedule (with Saturdays worked on a rotating basis)

Core Responsibilities

  • Carry out heavy mechanical procedures, including gearbox replacements, timing chain/belt renewals, engine teardowns, and clutch installations
  • Utilize manufacturer diagnostic platforms to identify electronic, mechanical, and network faults efficiently
  • Complete routine servicing, warranty repairs, and multi-point vehicle health checks (VHC) to strict brand standards
  • Record clear technical notes on electronic job cards and liaise with service reception personnel
  • Maintain bay safety, workshop cleanliness, and proper handling of dealership tooling

Candidate Profile

  • Technical Ability: Demonstrated background in major mechanical repairs and structured diagnostic fault isolation
  • Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background)
  • MOT Status: Holding a valid MOT Tester card is desirable for higher initial pay, but is not essential to apply
  • Mindset: Methodical professional dedicated to clean workmanship and right-first-time quality
  • Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
