Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Execute core mechanical maintenance, including brake overhauls, suspension replacement, clutch builds, and timing belts
- Use multi-brand scan tools to clear error codes, reset service indicators, and isolate mechanical faults
- Complete routine servicing, safety inspections, pre-MOT health checks, and minor electrical fixes
- Update front-of-house staff on job timelines and maintain job sheet accuracy
- Keep workshop bays clean, orderly, and compliant with health and safety standards
What We Need From You
- Experience: Hands-on experience working on a wide mix of makes, models, and light commercial vehicles
- Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or time-served garage background)
- MOT Status: Active MOT Smart Card is preferred (commands a higher starting salary), but is not essential to apply
- Mindset: Dependable, practical mechanic focused on honest repairs and right-first-time quality
- Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
