What's Included in the Package?

  • Salary Range: £35,000 – £45,000 basic per annum (DOE) + productivity efficiency bonus (An active MOT Tester licence is highly advantageous and commands a higher starting pay band!)
  • Working Schedule: Monday to Friday schedule (alongside Saturdays on a rotating basis)
  • Paid Leave: 20 days annual leave + all statutory bank holidays

Core Responsibilities

  • Execute major mechanical teardowns and rebuilds, including timing belts/chains, gearboxes, clutch assemblies, and engine overhauls
  • Use official diagnostic platforms to trace, evaluate, and fix complex electrical and mechanical faults
  • Perform routine servicing, safety evaluations, and thorough vehicle health checks (VHC) to brand guidelines
  • Provide accurate technical descriptions on job cards and update service advisors on repair timelines
  • Adhere strictly to workshop health and safety guidelines, cleanliness standards, and tool maintenance

Candidate Profile

  • Technical Skill: Solid background in heavy mechanical repairs and systematic fault-finding processes
  • Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background)
  • MOT Status: Holding a valid MOT Tester card is desirable for an increased initial salary, but is not essential to apply
  • Mindset: Quality-driven professional focused on clean workmanship and right-first-time results
  • Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
