What You’ll Be Doing
- Major Engine & Mechanical Overhauls: Hands-on replacement of cambelts, timing chains, clutches, brake systems, and engine components.
- Diagnostics & Fault Finding: Utilizing modern diagnostic software and equipment to accurately troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults across all makes and models.
- Servicing & Health Checks: Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and private cars of all ages.
- MOT & Manufacturer Standards: Performing repairs and inspections in a safe, competent manner to ensure full MOT and manufacturer compliance.
- Communication & Mentorship: Documenting accurate job write-ups, communicating repair details professionally to colleagues/customers, and guiding apprentice technicians where applicable.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served experience).
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated confidence with cambelts, timing chains, clutches, engine overhauls, and diagnostic tools.
- MOT License: Class 1, 2, 4, 5, or 7 MOT tester status is an advantage (full training will be provided for the right candidate).
- Mindset & Communication: Ability to work on your own initiative within allocated job times, strong verbal communication skills, and a customer-focused approach.
- Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (Class C or C+E is an advantage).
