We are a well-established, independent garage and MOT centre based in Southbourne, Dorset, known for delivering high-quality vehicle servicing, repairs, and MOT testing. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, reliability, and a strong reputation within the local community. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Service Advisor/Receptionist to join our team.
The Role
As the front-of-house lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our busy workshop. You will be responsible for managing customer interactions, coordinating workshop activity, and supporting the team to deliver an efficient and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule and manage bookings for vehicle servicing, MOTs, and repairs
- Answer incoming calls and respond to customer enquiries promptly
- Create and manage electronic job cards, quotations, and invoices
- Maintain accurate customer records and service histories
- Handle cash and card payments efficiently
- Liaise with technicians to coordinate workflow and job allocation
- Manage vehicle progress through the workshop from arrival to collection
- Keep customers informed with clear updates throughout the repair process
- Order, receive, and allocate parts to relevant jobs
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised, and welcoming
- Support general administrative duties as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Advisor, Receptionist, or Front-of-House within an automotive or garage environment
- Strong technical understanding of vehicle servicing and repairs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and manage a busy workload effectively
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience using motor trade or office management systems
- Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
