Your Role
As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Newport workshop, you will:
- Handle mechanical repairs, engine work, routine servicing, and general preventative maintenance.
- Lead on diagnostics, tuning, and fault-finding using specialist on-site tools and software.
- Manage MOT failure diagnosis and rectifications to get vehicles back on the road safely.
- Use tablet-based systems to manage digital job cards, update work logs, and maintain repair accuracy.
- Collaborate productively with a close-knit technical team to keep the workshop operating smoothly.
What You Need
- Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. Time-served technical experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic is highly considered. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
- Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
- Equipment & Mindset: Must possess your own hand tools and feel confident using digital diagnostic systems. Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
