What You’ll Be Doing
- Servicing & General Maintenance: Performing routine servicing, fleet inspections, health checks, and general mechanical repairs on all makes and models.
- Major Mechanical Overhauls: Executing hands-on replacement of cambelts/timing chains, clutches, brakes, and suspension components.
- Diagnostics & Fault Finding: Utilizing technical diagnostic software to accurately troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- MOT Prep & Standards: Ensuring all repairs and inspections meet strict MOT safety and manufacturer guidelines.
- Team Communication & Mentorship: Sharing technical expertise, writing accurate job descriptions, and helping guide apprentice technicians where needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served experience).
- Technical Expertise: Confident with cambelts, clutches, diagnostic tools, and general car/LCV maintenance.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to liaise with colleagues and explain technical repairs.
- MOT License: MOT Tester status (Classes 1, 2, 4, 5, or 7) is an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (Class C or C+E is a bonus).
