What Your Day Will Look Like
As a Senior Java Engineer in our Data Platform Framework Squad, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing data-intensive backend services that power live sports events. Our team is responsible for managing data feeds, event-driven processing, and cloud-based infrastructure to deliver real-time insights internally and to global sports leagues and partners. You will work in an agile environment, collaborating with engineers across our entire backend team.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Java, leveraging internal framework components
- Be a key contributor in the architectural decisions which help us build the framework
- Work on data pipelines that power operations for various sports like American football or ice hockey
- Deploy and scale applications in AWS (Lambda, S3, Apache Flink, etc.)
- Work on event-driven architectures
- Collaborate with other engineers in the team to meet high-impact project deadlines
- Ensure system reliability and performance in high-traffic, real-time environments
Tech Stack And Skill Requirements
Required:
- Strong Java (preferably Java 11 or later) experience
- Experience with AWS
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
- Previous experience with designing and scaling high throughput, low latency distributed systems
- Understanding of monitoring, logging, and traceability
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with stream-processing concepts (Flink, Spark, Kafka Streams)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (GitHub Actions, Terraform)
- Exposure to real-time data processing and sports tech
- Experience and interest in line management
