The Opportunity
Sony Sports has a unique opportunity to define the future of elite athlete performance by bringing together three world-class assets within one integrated vision. We are looking for a Product Manager to lead the development of the world’s most powerful athlete performance intelligence system. By combining the optical tracking of Hawk-Eye, the physiological monitoring of STATSports, and the biomechanical insights of KinaTrax, you will build a "unified truth layer" for the sports world. This is your chance to shape how elite sport trains, prepares, and develops talent.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Integration
- Define the "Unified Truth": Lead the product strategy to merge optical tracking, GPS/inertial data, and biomechanics into a complete measurement system for athlete behaviour.
- Platform Consolidation: Oversee the transition from fragmented tools to a single environment for training design, match prep, and athlete management, ensuring high adoption across teams and leagues.
- Drive the Roadmap: Own the product roadmap for this new ecosystem, ensuring alignment with Hawk-Eye’s long-term sports strategy and market trends.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Work closely with relevant teams to translate complex datasets into actionable product features.
- Intelligence Layer Development: Drive the creation of advanced features such as tactical performance modeling, injury risk projections and talent identification.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with elite clubs, federations, and internal stakeholders to understand customer needs and tailor the platform for high-performance environments.
- User-Centric Design: Oversee the design of intuitive interfaces that simplify complex data for non-technical users (coaches and players).
- Validation & Testing: Validate product direction through prototyping, customer interviews with performance directors, and usability testing.
Required Experience
- Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Elite Performance Environment Experience: Must have proven experience working directly with performance coaches, medical practitioners, and athletic trainers in elite sport. You must understand their daily workflows, terminology, and how they interpret "truth" regarding athlete movement and loading.
- Product Leadership: Proven experience in product management roles for complex SaaS products, ideally within the B2B space.
- Data Systems Integration: Experience managing platforms that ingest and visualise multiple complex data sources (e.g., Video, GPS, Biometrics).
- AI & ML Literacy: Strong understanding of how machine learning and generative AI can be applied to use cases such as predictive insights and biomechanical analysis.
- Strategic Communication: Exceptional communication skills for bridging the gap between technical teams (biomechanists/engineers) and commercial stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong organisational skills to manage the complexity of integrating three distinct technology stacks.
- UX/UI Principles: Knowledge of user-centered design principles to ensure the platform remains accessible to non-technical users.
- Agile Proficiency: Extensive experience with Agile methodologies, managing development cycles, and prioritising backlogs in a fast-paced environment.
