- Projects: On-site management of our service delivery across the globe. Liaising with external stakeholders to organise our technical requirements to be ready and sites to be prepared for our arrival, and to deliver our services to the deadline of the events.
- Broadcast Production: Rigging and directing live TV broadcasts across the Masters 1000s ATP tour.
You will be exposed to each of the areas above and find the discipline that works best for you. As you specialise throughout your time in the Tennis department, there is the option to join a more project-focused team and workflow where you can spend more time in an office-based capacity. However, this does not diminish your opportunity to occasionally travel to some of the world's biggest Tennis events.
What Does A Tennis Systems Operator Do?
- Installation and setup of Hawk-Eye hardware in the build-up to matches, including setting up our cameras, calibrating the system and performing pre-match checks.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including broadcasters and TV directors, for creative impact.
- Liaising with match officials, tournament third parties, organisers, and officials to ensure all contractual obligations are seamlessly fulfilled upon our arrival.
- Monitoring and Operation of the Hawk-Eye ball-tracking and broadcast systems during every game.
- Assisting with our 'SMART Production' broadcast delivery at tennis events throughout the year.
- Providing quick resolutions for any technical issues.
- Contribute to the research and development of new projects.
- Maintenance of the kit and equipment needed to operate the system.

What Difficulties Might I Face?
Up to this point, Iām sure there have been many things that you find intriguing about the role, however, there can be difficult times:
- Working Hours: Due to the nature of the sports industry, there is often work on weekends and midweek evenings, and we are expected to fulfil our roles until the last ball has been hit.
- Travelling Abroad: You can expect to spend up to 220 days per year on tour away from home. Whilst there are glamorous locations where Grand Slams are held, there are also some locations that you may not have anticipated that you will be expected to travel to.
- Working & Living in Different Time Zones: This role is tour-based, which means you will be spending time away from family and friends, where social events could be missed. Working in different time zones can also impact communication.
- High-Pressure Situations: Working in a live broadcast environment on a production that is distributed to millions worldwide will bring high levels of pressure. We will do our best to train and equip you to the best possible level to help with these, but they must be considered before submitting your application.
