About the Role

Hi, I’m Thomas Rychlik, Discipline Lead for Computer Vision Algorithms at Hawk-Eye Innovations. I’m looking for a Computer Vision Engineer – Algorithms to join our Computer Vision team. This role is ideal for someone with early commercial or strong academic experience in computer vision who wants to continue developing their algorithmic skills while working on real-world, production-grade sports technology. You’ll be working on elite-level tracking systems across sports such as football and tennis, contributing directly to the development and improvement of core computer vision algorithms used in live sporting environments. The role is strongly algorithm-focused, with an emphasis on problem solving, performance, and accuracy.

What You’ll Work On

  • Developing and improving football ball and player tracking algorithms using multi-camera systems
  • Contributing to multi-view geometry solutions for accurate tracking across the field of play
  • Supporting approaches to handling occlusion and recovery in fast-paced sports scenarios
  • Enhancing existing, mature computer vision systems used in live production
  • Optimising algorithms with performance and reliability in mind, including CPU and GPU considerations
  • Working in an agile environment to deliver robust, production-ready solutions

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and improvement of computer vision algorithms
  • Implement, test, and validate algorithmic features
  • Collaborate with other engineers to solve complex vision challenges
  • Contribute ideas and improvements to existing approaches and pipelines
  • Share progress, challenges, and learnings with the wider team
  • Continue to grow technical capability through hands-on development

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience with computer vision algorithms (commercial or academic)
  • Working knowledge of C++, with a desire to continue developing modern C++ skills
  • An interest in performance optimisation for CPU and GPU workloads
  • Familiarity with image processing and multi-camera systems
  • A basic understanding of Git and Visual Studio

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Exposure to CUDA or GPU acceleration
  • Awareness of concurrency, networking or operating system concepts
  • Interest in machine learning and related libraries
