Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Location: Basingstoke Head Office

Working Pattern: On-site 5 Days/Week

Overview: Every Hawk-Eye system that goes live in a stadium starts life on a bench in Basingstoke. Getting it right there is what makes it work out there, in front of a crowd, first time, with no chance to stop and fix it. As a Project Delivery Technician (Hardware), you'll build that kit. You'll assemble and configure hardware from individual components up to complete subsystems, test every build against spec, and make sure what leaves the building is ready to deploy. You'll work closely with our Hardware Project Managers to hit build schedules, keep stock and project bays in order, and diagnose problems as they come up. It's hands-on, practical work on the technology behind some of the biggest moments in sport.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Assembly: Assemble computer systems, servers, or other hardware components based on project specifications and technical documentation. Install and secure components such as processors, memory, storage devices, motherboards, power supplies, and peripheral devices into larger sub systems.
  • Configuration and Integration: Configure hardware components including specific operational settings, and operating systems. Integrate hardware components with software applications and ensure compatibility and proper functionality.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of hardware configurations, specifications, and build and testing checklists.
  • Logistics and Inventory Management: Manage and liaise hardware inventory with the stock controller and warehousing teams ensuring all project bays and shelving are fit for project builds and inventory is clearly accessible.
  • Coordinate: Collaborate with Project Managers (Hardware) to make sure you are aware of the build schedules and program to ensure all builds are completed on time for logistics and operational delivery. Highlight any issues that occur which could impact the timeline to key stakeholders including Hardware Project Managers and the Project Delivery Manager.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve hardware issues that occur during builds. Coordinate any learnings or feedback to the Hardware Support Manager as documentation may be required an update or a full-cycle refinement within Project Design.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest hardware and technology trends to provide innovative solutions to clients.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices during hardware assembly and installation. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements:

  • The role requires an eagerness to learn new skills and gain new knowledge to cover the continuously evolving hardware technologies used by all departments.
  • Must possess good communication and organisational skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to multitask, think analytically and problem solve.
  • Must demonstrate a diligent & organised approach to resolving technical issues and supplying clear solutions, including replacement equipment, within the timescales available.
  • Must take responsibility for their own work, standards and training program.
  • Must be competent in the use of all tooling and take responsibility for the H&S of themselves and those around them.
  • Must be flexible in order to facilitate up to 7 days on-site per year to ensure that the Operational Team adheres to hardware processes and procedures and suggests improvements where possible. This may include operational support under rare, business-critical circumstances.
