Due to expansion my client is seeking an ambitious and dedicated Scientific Laser Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties related to customer support and hands-on work with the laser systems, both in the office and in the field at customer sites. Reporting to the Sales Manager you will:
- Consult and collaborate with customers to solve their technical problems with lasers and solutions
- Explore the potential technical solutions, and lead discussions which may include various subject matter experts including product managers
- Assist the team with hands on support
- Build customer rapport, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Visit potential customers and attend trade shows and conferences throughout the UK, providing demonstrations and presentations
- Identify potential market and application opportunities
- Maintain sales lead and opportunity information in the customer database to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders (sales, product managers, production, etc)
- Liaise with the production team to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Develop new customer relationships
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a degree in Physics
- Be highly motivated
- Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Be able to work within a structured working environment
- Have a strong working knowledge on Microsoft Office
- Be flexible to travel to customer sites
- Be a quick learner
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 – 17:30hrs. In return our client offers 20 days holiday, company pension, company related bonus, free parking, ongoing professional training.
