Exciting opportunity for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to join a growing, forward-thinking manufacturing business based in Oldbury. The company operates at the cutting edge of manual and robotic wet paint applications, supporting a diverse client base across automotive, defence, medical, and consumer goods sectors. Due to continued growth and internal restructuring, the business is strengthening its engineering function and is looking for a driven leader to take ownership of maintenance operations across two sites.
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Location: Oldbury, West Midlands
Shift pattern: Mon-Thurs 08:00 – 17:00; Fri 08:00 – 14:00 (early finish!)
Hours: 39.5 per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Own and develop the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule
- Deliver and oversee engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Provide regular reports on monthly engineering performance and objectives
- Drive improvements in equipment performance and overall site efficiency
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are consistently met and maintained
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders across the business
Engineering Expertise:
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background
- Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience in fault-finding on pumps, motors, and related systems
- Knowledge of pneumatics and fluid logic systems
- Background in automotive or paint processes (highly desirable)
- Experience with ABB robotics (advantageous but not essential)
Leadership & Management:
- Proven ability to manage projects and drive improvements
- Experience managing or using Excel-based PM systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Committed to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment
Additional Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Flexible approach, including:
- Supporting across two sites when required
- Occasional overtime and call-outs
- Providing holiday/shift cover when needed
