Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team at the Skypark in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of new product development projects – from concept through to production – while playing a key role in maintaining and refining an existing product portfolio.
- Creating production-ready designs and engineering drawings using Solid Edge (or SolidWorks).
- Conducting DFMEA and tolerance analysis to ensure reliability and manufacturability.
- Collaborating with departments including Development, Production Engineering, and Purchasing.
- Managing BOMs and design documentation throughout the NPD lifecycle.
- Working to project timelines, quality standards, and ISO9001:2015 processes.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience taking products from prototype to mass production.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal design and manufacturing methods.
- Skilled in Solid Edge (SolidWorks considered) and 2D drawing generation using GD&T best practice.
- Experience with DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacture principles.
