Site Facilities Manager (Electrically Biased)
£depending on experience
Full time office based permanent role working Monday to Friday
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an Electrically Biased Site Facilities Manager to join a team at a growing UK site based in Selby, North Yorkshire. With a strong heritage and an expanding international presence.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this is a key role within the Maintenance Department, overseeing and managing all building services and site infrastructure in a busy manufacturing environment. You will ensure operational reliability, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement across systems including access control, heating, lighting, plumbing, and site grounds.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong electrical background, broad facilities management experience, and the ability to manage both hands-on maintenance and contractor-led projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and compliance of all building services, including:
- Electrical systems (lighting, small power distribution, emergency systems)
- Access control, CCTV, and security systems
- HVAC systems and controls
- Plumbing and water systems
- External grounds, lighting, drainage, and site infrastructure
- Lead and manage external contractors for planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and project work.
- Carry out hands-on electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and minor installations.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety, fire safety, Legionella control, and other relevant HSE regulations.
- Maintain accurate facilities records, permits, and risk assessments (e.g., PAT testing, EICRs).
- Manage the facilities maintenance budget and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate facilities-related improvement projects such as refurbishments and energy efficiency upgrades.
- Work with the HSE team to ensure systems support food safety, hygiene, and GMP requirements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and safety in all plant and utility areas.
- Support internal and external audits and inspections.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, 18th Edition, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation).
- Proven experience in facilities or maintenance management within manufacturing, food production, or FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, services, and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing contractors, service agreements, and compliance documentation.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., PUWER, COSHH, LOLER).
- Competent in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Experience in GMP or HACCP-compliant environments.
- Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and contractor management platforms.
- Understanding of sustainability and energy efficiency practices.
Working Conditions
- Based full-time on site in Selby, UK.
- Mix of office, plant room, and factory floor work.
- Occasional out-of-hours or weekend work during shutdowns or emergencies.
