Location: Swindon

Salary: up to £45,000k

Job type: Permanent Full Time

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 0830 -1700 (Hybrid/ flexible )

Summary:

Our client based in Swindon is looking for an Regulatory Compliance Specialist. In this flexible position, you will serve as a vital link between our company and regulatory authorities, ensuring that our products meet all necessary legal and compliance standards. If you have a mix of relevant qualifications and are passionate about maintaining compliance in the chemical engineering field, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

– Prepare Safety Data Sheets (SDS) using our bespoke Excel system for finished products and intermediates.

– Manage SDS for raw materials.

– Develop CLP (GHS) and transport hazard labels.

– Ensure compliance with EU and UK REACH regulations by performing substance calculations and liaising with Only Representatives.

– Conduct raw material assessments and assign NPAUK internal codes.

– Perform IMDS calculations regarding automotive substances and compliance.

– Calculate VOCs and handle local council licence calculations related to emissions monitoring.

– Execute COMAH calculations.

– Assess site operations concerning BCF Coatings Care, including energy efficiency and waste.

– Manage and update databases (Excel skills required).

– Stay informed on national and international legislation and guidelines.

– Conduct and manage regulatory inspections, advising on system changes.

– Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities.

Key Skills & Qualifications :

– Strong background in compliance management, particularly in environmental, health, and safety regulations.

– Excellent documentation and organization skills.

– Proficiency in Excel and database management.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

Technical knowledge:

• Chemical Engineering Principles: Deep understanding of chemical processes, systems, and safety protocols.

  • • Familiarity with relevant local, national, and international regulations, such as:OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.
  • REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals).
  • GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals).
  • Environmental laws (e.g., EPA regulations).
  • ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
