Hours Of Work: Monday to Friday, Rotating 6-2, 2-10
Location: Halesowen
Role: Follow relevant procedures in the production operations in the machining of components, ensuring finished components meet the necessary quality standards & delivery timescales.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret 2D drawings and specifications
- Plan and work out machining features and sequences
- Select correct machines, tools, speeds, feeds, and lubricants
- Set up, locate, and clamp workpieces (centres, banding & steadies)
- Perform dimensional inspection and layout 'mark off'
- Inspect components at various stages to ensure quality standards
- Trouble shoot and make necessary adjustments
- Deburr components for safe material movement
- Operate overhead cranes (LOLER training provided)
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised workplace
- Perform TPM activities (swarf removal, coolant routines, oiling/greasing)
- Monitor and maintain consumable stock levels
- Carry out daily bookings against route card jobs
- Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
Requirements:
- Min 2 years' experience in manual lathe turning
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
- Lifting and slinging capabilities
- Full understanding of Health & Safety in heavy engineering
