Our client is a well-established and highly regarded legal practice with a strong presence across the South West. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join their successful Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated conveyancing professional looking to join a supportive and forward-thinking firm that values client care, professional development and business growth. The role can be based from any of the firm’s offices in Exeter, Ilminster, Bridgwater or Yeovil.
The Role
- You will manage your own residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion, delivering high-quality legal advice and exceptional client service throughout the transaction process.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied caseload of residential property transactions
- Drafting legal documents, contracts and correspondence
- Reviewing title documentation and resolving title issues
- Conducting and reviewing property searches
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, solicitors and other third parties
- Advising clients throughout the conveyancing process
- Preparing reports on title and completion statements
- Exchanging contracts and coordinating completions
- Arranging transfer of funds and post-completion registrations
- Submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns and Land Registry applications
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and professional standards
- Maintaining accurate file records and case management systems
- Exercising exceptional standards of client care
- Managing work in progress, billing and cash collection effectively
- Participating in departmental meetings and business development initiatives
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, introducers and professional contacts
- Supporting marketing activities and promoting the firm’s services
- Meeting and exceeding agreed performance and productivity targets
- Supervising and supporting junior team members where appropriate
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have substantial experience handling residential conveyancing matters independently and be passionate about delivering excellent client service. You will ideally possess:
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience within Residential Conveyancing
- Strong technical knowledge of residential property transactions
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- The ability to manage a busy caseload efficiently and independently
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with modern legal case management systems
- A collaborative and professional approach to team working
