The Role

We are looking for a talented and commercially minded Direct Response Creative to join our marketing team.

This is a hands‑on creative role focused on producing digital advertising and email campaigns that engage our audience, communicate our product story clearly, and drive customers to our website.

You will be equally at home writing sharp, persuasive copy and crafting compelling visual concepts.

You understand that in direct response, every word and every image must earn its place — and that the ultimate measure of great creative is whether it makes people click, explore, and buy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative & Copywriter
  • Concept and write copy for digital display advertising, paid social, and email campaigns from brief to final delivery.
  • Craft clear, engaging subject lines, headlines, body copy, and calls to action that reflect the Hawes & Curtis brand voice and drive measurable response.
  • Translate product USPs into compelling customer‑facing messaging — communicating fabric quality, fit, craftsmanship, and value in ways that resonate and convert.
  • Develop multiple creative routes for A/B and multivariate testing, using results to inform ongoing optimisation.
  • Write for a range of campaign types including new arrivals, seasonal promotions, event‑based communications, and loyalty/retention programmes.
  • Email Marketing
  • Build and maintain a rolling email content calendar in collaboration with the wider marketing team.
  • Create engaging email templates and campaign assets that are on‑brand, mobile‑optimised, and structured to maximise open rates and click‑throughs.
  • Work within the ESP (email service platform) to set up and QA campaigns prior to deployment.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide recommendations based on results.
  • Digital Advertising
  • Produce creative assets for Meta, Google, and other paid channels — adapting copy and layouts to suit different formats, placements, and audience segments.
  • Collaborate with the performance marketing team to ensure creative is aligned with targeting strategy and campaign objectives.
  • Keep abreast of best practices in digital advertising formats and emerging creative trends.
  • Work closely with the design team to bring creative concepts to life, providing clear briefs and direction on visual execution.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Contribute to campaign briefing sessions, bringing proactive creative ideas and a commercial perspective.
  • Maintain consistency of brand voice and messaging across all customer touchpoints.
  • Proven experience in a direct response creative or copywriting role, ideally within fashion, retail, or e‑commerce.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating email campaigns and digital advertising that delivered measurable results.
  • Exceptional copywriting skills with a clear, direct style and strong attention to detail.
  • A solid understanding of what makes customers click — from subject lines to CTAs.
  • Ability to absorb brand guidelines and adapt tone of voice while keeping copy fresh and engaging.
  • Comfortable working at pace and managing multiple briefs at once.
  • Collaborative approach and confidence in presenting and discussing creative work.

What we Offer

  • A creative role with genuine impact in a well‑known, respected British brand.
  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
  • Staff discount across the full Hawes & Curtis range.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Opportunities to grow within the marketing team as the business expands.
  • A collaborative, supportive working environment where ideas are valued.

Please note this role is based 4 days on‑site with 1 day wfh.
