Role Description

The Suit Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Greenhithe, focused on delivering expert advice and a tailored shopping experience for customers seeking suiting and formalwear. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting customers, understanding their needs, and recommending suits, shirts, and accessories that match fit, style, and occasion. The Suit Specialist will carry out precise fitting and measuring, oversee alterations requests, and maintain a high standard of product presentation on the shop floor. The role involves handling sales transactions, achieving individual and store targets, and contributing to visual merchandising and stock management. Collaboration with the wider store team to uphold Hawes & Curtis' service standards and brand image is essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and client-facing skills, with the ability to build rapport and deliver a premium in-store experience.
  • Experience in suiting, menswear, or formalwear retail, including measuring, fitting, and advising on tailoring and alterations.
  • Sales and retail skills, including POS operation, cash handling, and working toward individual and team sales targets.
  • Knowledge of fabrics, cuts, and garment construction, with an eye for detail in styling, presentation, and visual merchandising.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a proactive approach to stock management and store standards.
  • Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the store schedule.
  • Previous experience in luxury or heritage retail and an interest in classic British style are advantageous.
