What’s the job?
We are seeking an experienced Motor Trade Branch Accountant to join a well-established and growing automotive business. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of motor trade accounting processes and dealer management systems. This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week.
Daily responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Profit and loss analysis across departments (new, used, service, parts)
- Balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
- VAT returns, payroll oversight, and cashflow management
- Year-end accounts preparation and liaison with external auditors
- Stock reconciliation and margin analysis
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accountant within the motor trade
- Strong knowledge of motor trade accounting practices and KPIs
- Experience with dealer management systems (e.g. Kerridge, Pinewood or similar)
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working with franchised or multi-site dealerships
