WHAT ARE SOME OF THE COOL PROJECTS DESIGNED AND BUILT
- LS-24 light‑weight aluminum winches for the R/V Shackleford research and hydrographic survey vessel
- 20‑Ton capacity hose handling marine cranes complete with dual winches, wireless remote controls, and built in electric hydraulic power units for Shell Deer Park
- Containerized AUV Launch and Recovery System (LARS) to the University of Gothenburg for their Antarctic mission
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Report to the Manufacturing Manager
- Supervising the operations of the Assembly Department
- Ensure employees are aware of all safety requirements and instruct them in the Health & Safety Program
- Prepare work schedules, make work assignments for employees and set work deadlines
- Inspect work in progress and completed to ensure conformance to specifications and adherence to quality standards
- Maintain ISO‑9001 Standards as they relate to manufacturing
- Attend weekly production meetings and report on work in progress
- Provide labour estimates for manufacturing
- Responsible for the hiring or termination of all personnel in the machine shop
WHO YOU ARE
- Previous experience within specific skilled trade, manufacturing heavy equipment with leadership responsibilities
- Effective leadership and team‑building skills
- Solid technical understanding of the equipment being manufactured
- Licensed Millwright, Mechanic and/or equivalent training/experience
- Intellectually curious, passionate about learning and being the best
- Sense of urgency, highly responsive and oriented towards action
- Can‑do attitude, and respond in all situations with a positive and energised attitude
- Willing and able to work overtime
