We are seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Team Lead to join our Starting Well Directorate. You will manage a team of Facilities Officers ensuring that our buildings, including MyPlace Community and Youth Centre, Hedley Close, and Havering's Children Centres, operate efficiently, safely, and in a customer-focused manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise Starting Well Facilities Officers, including appraisals and professional development.
  • Cover shifts at Myplace as and when required.
  • Ensure building compliance with health and safety standards and undertake risk assessments.
  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee building operations, including security, alarms, and cleaning.
  • Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Promote Starting Well facilities and services to the community.
  • Deputise for the Facilities Manager as required.

About You

  • Experience managing public facing buildings.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations & the ability to risk assess.
  • Experience working with young people, and the principles of safeguarding.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Technical knowledge including audio/visual, lighting, connectivity, and cable management.
  • Ability to be commercial minded to support the best use of facilities and generate income.
  • A practical mindset, willingness to learn/share new skills and to improve how we work to get results.
