About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team. Initially, the successful candidate will work alongside our PE Coach and Swimming Teacher, supporting the delivery of high-quality PE and swimming provision across the school. The successful candidate will also contribute to our wider extra-curricular programme. This is a permanent, term-time only position and would particularly suit someone who is passionate about promoting children's physical development, wellbeing, and participation in sport.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support pupils during PE and swimming lessons, ensuring all children can participate fully and confidently;
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs to access learning and activities successfully;
  • Deliver small-group coaching and intervention sessions;
  • Assist with the organisation, preparation, and supervision of sporting events, competitions, and educational visits;
  • Occasionally facilitate the delivery of PE lessons to allow staff attendance at training, events, or competitions.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant Level 2 qualification (or higher) in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Sport, or a related field;
  • Experience of working with children in a sporting, coaching, or educational setting;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both children and adults;
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills;
  • The ability to support children's medical, emotional, physical, and behavioural needs.
