London Borough of Havering is seeking a talented and experienced public health strategist to join its Public Health Team.
About Us
Havering is an exciting place to live and work, being the third largest London borough with distinct communities, each with its own history and character, set within large green belt areas. Most of the workforce operates remotely, but the borough offers excellent transport links to central London, Essex, and beyond.

About the Job
We are particularly interested in candidates with demonstrable experience in Healthy Weight initiatives, capable of advancing the complex programme outlined in the Havering Healthy Weight Strategy 2024-2029.
As a Public Health Strategist, you will provide specialist advice and support, contributing to key work streams. You should be adept at interpreting surveillance data, communicating complex information clearly to diverse audiences, and presenting findings effectively.
About You
You will have proven experience working on healthy weight and related programmes, with a passion for enhancing population health and wellbeing. Building partnerships with stakeholders and communities across Havering will be central to your role.
A degree in Public Health or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required. You should possess solid knowledge of public health policy, needs assessments, literature reviews, epidemiology, health protection, and health inequalities, with practical application experience.
Participation in ongoing professional development is expected.
