We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with SEND. The role is predominantly working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, with group work required.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting children with needs such as speech, language and communication, social, emotional and mental health, learning difficulties, and medical conditions including intimate care.
- Experience using visuals and Attention A is an advantage.
- Working under the direction of the class teacher while using initiative to organise tasks and activities, creating simple resources to support pupil work as appropriate.
- Working closely with the class teacher, the School’s SENCO, and in partnership with external contacts to support learning and development.
Person Specification:
- Calm, kind, patient, cheerful and enthusiastic about working with children.
- Experienced in supporting pupils with learning difficulties.
- Effective communicator with pupils and staff.
- Able to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Committed to working as part of a team.
