We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to play a key role in developing and supporting our clinical workforce at Havens Hospices. In this role, you will deliver high-quality training, assessment, and guidance to both new and existing staff, helping to ensure safe, compassionate, and effective care for those we support.
A central focus of the role is working closely with our Healthcare Assistant workforce, empowering them with the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to consistently deliver the highest standards of care. You will act as a visible and supportive presence, providing hands-on coaching and practical guidance in the clinical environment.

Working closely with the Registered Nurse Educators, the postholder will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of training for the non-registered workforce. They will support the assessment and ongoing monitoring of staff competencies, while providing targeted, hands-on support to staff during their working day across care teams and the wider organisation. The role will include delivering small group training sessions and acting as a mentor to non-registered members of the care team.
The postholder will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice and consistently act as a role model for high standards of care. While the role is primarily focused on adult services, there may be occasions where support is required for staff working within children’s services.

Responsibilities:
- To plan, design and deliver core training on a range of subjects and undertake competency assessments on behalf of the organisation within their capability and scope of practice.
- To work predominantly with Adult services, but the role is across the organisation and with the potential to collaborate with other organisations.
- To work with the Clinical Practice Facilitators and Organisational Learning and Clinical Education Lead to ensure that training materials are up to date and regularly reviewed in line with clinical governance requirements.
- Deliver targeted support to members of the healthcare team and across the organisation as and when required.
- Deliver small group training as and when required.
- Work with Clinical Practice Facilitators and Organisational Learning & Clinical Education Lead to ensure that non-registered members of the healthcare team are supported and have appropriate training plans in place.
- Ensure that records and registers of all training delivered are communicated to Learning and Development and that the Learning Management System is updated.
- Ensure that feedback is sought and formally recorded after each learning intervention.
- To provide mentoring support to non-registered members of the care team.
- Maintain own clinical competence by undertaking appropriate CPD and by working clinically in the area they are teaching.
- Work in partnership with the Lead, and Facilitators, to support on all Learning and Development matters.
- Act in line with best practice and our Charity policy and procedure protect and develop our employees.
- Participate in appropriate internal and external educational training programmes to ensure continued professional development.
- Provide administrative support for L&D where required.
- Provide operational support for colleagues in the team Quality Team as required.
