We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Head Receptionist at Haven Veterinary Surgeons.

Location: Haven Vets

Contract: Nicola Jacobs

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday on a rotation basis, 1 in 4 Saturdays 8.30-1pm

About the role

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Receptionist team, including training and providing support and guidance
  • Creating and managing the team rota
  • Supporting with Recruitment and liaising with the internal recruitment team
  • Account Control & Debt Management
  • Manage the processing of insurance claims
  • Assist in the management of our Healthy Pet Club
  • Stock control

Additional Day-to-day duties of the role will include:

  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Completing insurance forms
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments
  • Providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice

What we’re looking for in our Veterinary Head Receptionist

  • Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
