Here at Havebury Housing, we are looking for a Hostel Assistant on a part-time basis for 30 hours per week, this will be on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with the working hours of 15:00-23:30. Your role is to ensure the safety and security of the Project, colleagues, visitors and residents within the Lucy Adams House service. You will be required to assist the Management Team and Support Workers to deliver support to residents and administration to help residents towards independent living. You will work closely with Support Workers to respond appropriately to resident’s day to day needs and manage the needs of the 24 hour hostel building.
We own and manage c.7,500 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes – including our zero-carbon journey – as well as building new homes.

Outline of Key Responsibilities…
- Assisting the Management team and Support Workers to help develop residents social and life skills. To also support the emergency bed space residents when needed
- Carrying out checks on residents to ensure their safety and the security of the building and its visitors, monitoring activity in the hostel via CCTV, and ensuring access is only given to residents and authorised personnel
- Ensuring the rules of the hostel are adhered to by residents and when they fail to do so highlighting this with the Management and Support Team for appropriate action
- Assisting with the preparation of rooms for re-letting
- Assisting the Management team and Support Workers to help develop residents social and life skills
- To monitor and manage through relevant systems any stored or stock items as required in adherence to good housekeeping
- To contribute to team process of new referrals and completing sign-ups with new residents and all administration tasks required
