We have two brand new, exciting opportunities to join us as Compliance Officers ! Working within our Asset Compliance Department, you will proactively support our compliance teams by carrying out health, safety, and fire inspections. Inspections will be carried out in the communal areas of our buildings to support us in ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative obligations for building safety.
We own and manage c.7,500 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes – including our zero-carbon journey – as well as building new homes.

Requirements
Outline of Key Responsibilities…
- Carry out periodic health, safety, and fire inspections in the communal areas of our residential properties to support our wider compliance regime
- Record detailed findings of inspections on our Health, Safety and Risk Assessment (HSRA) database
- Identify and risk assess safety hazards by considering likelihood of occurrence and consequence. This will ensure those resolving the issues can prioritise these effectively
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders by recommending how risks can be mitigated to ensure we resolve issues quickly and get it right first time
- Inspections will include but are not limited to the following checks:
- Functionality of fire and exit doors
- Escape routes are free from obstructions
- Fire safety signage is appropriately placed
- Firefighting equipment (fire extinguishers and fire blankets) is in date and being tested
- Storage of items in communal areas
- Visual inspection of electrical safety in shared spaces
- Ensuring electrical appliances are on the Personal Appliance Testing programme and in date
- Building security
We are looking for someone who has…
- NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent (or willing to work towards this)
- IOSH Managing Safety (or willing to work towards this)
- Full UK driving license
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance
- Ability to assess & mitigate health & safety risks and hazards
- Good IT skills and proficient in MS Office including Word and Excel. Able to use mobile technology to gather, record and use information whilst mobile working

- An annual salary of £30,258.50 plus a car allowance of £1,545 per annum
