We have an incredible opportunity to join us as a General Builder Supervisor - a hands‑on leadership role where you'll guide and inspire a team of multi‑skilled technicians delivering vital repairs services to our residents and leaseholders. With a strong focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement, you'll play a key role in driving performance and shaping the way our repairs and maintenance service is delivered. We own and manage c.8,000 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer‑centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero‑carbon journey - as well as building new homes.

Outline of key responsibilities:

  • Provide on‑site supervision and, where required, technical guidance and management advice to technicians - monitoring performance, tracking progress of works against programmes, and carrying out pre‑ and post‑inspection quality checks as required.
  • Contribute to and deliver operational plans that ensure the repairs, adaptations, and voids service is delivered in a cost‑effective way, in line with our service standards, procedures, and policies - proactively identifying and acting on opportunities to improve processes.
  • Ensure the team operates in line with the department ethos of 'Fix all repairs in full, on time, first time' - taking positive, decisive action to address any shortfalls in performance or quality.
  • Ensure customer needs are met through effective communication, efficient organisation of works, and the consistent embedding of a customer‑first approach to service delivery.
  • Operate within all applicable company budgets, demonstrating a clear understanding of value for money and its practical application in day‑to‑day decision making.
  • Work closely with the Customer Experience team to ensure effective and robust complaint management, taking personal ownership of service failures and complaints and ensuring they are resolved efficiently, effectively, and with the customer at the centre.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • One or more of the following qualifications, or an equivalent: C&G 6573, 8174, 6808, 6705, 6908, 6805, 6715, 6718, 6570, 6713, 6569, or 6708.
  • Proven experience of on‑site property repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience of delivering reactive and planned preventative maintenance within the social housing sector.
  • A track record of excellent performance, consistently meeting and exceeding KPIs.
  • The ability to interpret legislation and implement procedures confidently and effectively, with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of managing a budget, with a demonstrable understanding and practical application of value for money principles.
  • Proven supervisory or line management experience, with a track record of leading successful, high‑performing teams.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

In return, we are offering:

  • An annual salary of £44,063.45.
