We are looking for a Hub Operative to join us on a permanent basis. We own and manage c.8,000 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero-carbon journey - as well as building new homes.
Role Purpose
To provide a wide range of operational support to all teams who rely on the logistics function. This role will involve managing inventory, tracking supplies, and supporting the efficient operation of maintenance and repair activities, ensuring that all our technicians have everything they need to get their job done.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Havebury staff and suppliers to ensure clear communication, prompt delivery, and the provision of the right products and services first time.
- Help ensure materials, plant and waste services are provided promptly and efficiently.
- Help develop van stock profiles to reduce the need to purchase special order materials.
- Answer queries from field operatives and Schedulers pertaining to orders and advise on vans stock issues.
- Track and update orders with pending materials, ensuring timely follow-up and highlighting any delays, exceptions, or escalated issues to the Operations Hub Supervisor and Schedulers.
- Receive and check incoming deliveries, promptly identifying and reporting any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged items to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised warehouse and yard environment, ensuring materials are stored correctly and easily accessible.
- Maintain effective working relationships with technicians, ensuring they have timely access to the materials, tools, PPE, and workwear required to carry out their roles safely and efficiently.
- PAT testing equipment routinely, keeping adequate inspection records.
- Carry out routine audits on materials, van stocks, plant equipment, uniform, PPE, power tools, ladders, fire extinguishers.
- Assist in carrying out weekly, monthly, and annual stock control activities, ensuring inventory records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with issuing and control of uniform and PPE.
- Carry out monthly, weekly, facilities safety and fire checks, updating records in central system.

Requirements
Experience, Knowledge & Understanding
- Essential
- Previous experience of working as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Maintain a positive, can-do attitude and contribute to the effective management of the Hub operations.
- The ability to ask the right questions to be able to understand the reason for the customer’s call/visit.
- Be proactive and have a dynamic approach.
- Desirable
- A background in housing repairs and diagnostics/technical knowledge awareness.
- Previous experience of working in a warehousing environment.
Skills & Abilities
- Essential
- Have good communication skills with the ability to tailor the response to suit the customer or situation.
- Be a natural team player with an innate awareness of your fellow team, the ability to be both actively supportive and prepared to accept support.
- Be able to multi-task and be able to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Ability to deal with conflict situations.
- Experience of using IT systems, including Microsoft office software Outlook, Word, Excel, and other databases.

- PAT Testing Experience.
- Articulated forklift license.
- Driving License.

- An annual salary of £27,604.50.
- 8-4 Monday - Friday, 37 hour week.
