Role Overview
We are looking for a highly capable Planning Partner to play a key role in delivering outstanding media planning across a portfolio of clients at Havas Media UK.
This role is ideal for an experienced planner with 8-10 years’ experience who is passionate about delivering smart, integrated communications strategies and mentoring emerging talent.
You will work closely with senior planning leadership while taking ownership of planning excellence across key client accounts.
As a Planning Partner, you will combine strong strategic thinking with hands‑on planning expertise, ensuring our work is innovative, insight‑led and delivers meaningful business outcomes for our clients.
You will collaborate closely with specialists across strategy, activation, data and creative teams both within Havas Media UK and across the wider Havas Media Network.
Most importantly, you will bring curiosity, energy and a passion for great media thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Strategy & Planning
- Lead the development of best‑in‑class media strategies and communications plans across key client accounts.
- Translate client business objectives into clear, actionable media strategies that deliver measurable impact.
- Partner closely with client teams to provide confident strategic counsel and planning leadership.
- Ensure all planning recommendations are audience‑led, insight‑driven and channel neutral.
- Work with specialist teams (digital, data, investment, creative) to deliver integrated communications planning.
- Planning Excellence
- Champion high standards of planning thinking and output across your client portfolio.
- Apply a deep understanding of consumer behaviour, channels, and data to shape effective media strategies.
- Support the development and application of Converged, along with Havas Media’s planning process and methodologies.
- Ensure planning outputs are innovative, well structured and clearly connected to business outcomes.
- Collaboration & Integration
- Work closely with strategy, data, and activation teams to ensure joined‑up communications planning.
- Collaborate with teams across the Havas Media Network and Havas Village where appropriate.
- Help integrate digital, data and emerging technologies (including AI) into planning approaches.
- Team Contribution & Development
- Support the development and mentoring of junior planners, sharing expertise and guidance.
- Contribute to building a collaborative and high‑performing planning culture.
- Provide coaching and feedback to help develop strong planning capabilities across the team.
- Innovation & Thought Leadership
- Stay informed on emerging media trends, platforms and consumer behaviours.
- Bring fresh thinking and innovative approaches to planning challenges.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, case studies and planning best practice.
- Commercial Contribution
- Ensure planning recommendations are commercially viable and aligned with client goals.
- Support senior leadership on new business pitches and growth opportunities where required.
- Work with investment and activation teams to ensure plans are deliverable and effective.
Skills & Experience
- 8-10 years experience in media planning within an agency environment.
- Strong experience developing integrated communications strategies across multiple channels.
- Confident presenting strategic thinking to senior client stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of media channels, consumer behaviour and planning frameworks.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working with specialist teams across media disciplines.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior team members.
- Curious mindset with a passion for innovation in media and communications planning.
