Based in London’s King’s Cross – 26 different agencies make up the Havas UK Village. The Role: The Havas Media Commercial team is looking for a proactive and commercially curious Assistant Commercial Accountant to support forecasting, reporting, and business insight across the Havas Media Agencies. This role will work closely with the Commercial Finance Accountant and wider Commercial team, supporting financial decision-making, improving reporting processes and helping deliver accurate, timely commercial insight to the business. It’s an ideal role for someone looking to build commercial finance experience within an agency environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, be confident working with stakeholders and be studying towards a professional accounting qualification.
Responsibilities:
- Support forecast meetings with account teams, helping to update and review project forecasts and spend in the short and long term.
- Assist with month-end analysis of revenue and comp data, including preparation of accruals, deferrals and variance analysis versus forecast.
- Maintain and update forecasting models and trackers to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Support new business activity by assisting with financial data for pitches and post-pitch reporting.
- Help prepare detailed comp forecasting and analysis, including comp ratios by department.
- Support the development and maintenance of BI reporting and dashboards, working with the tech team where required.
- Assist in the preparation of board and leadership reporting packs.
- Provide ad hoc commercial analysis and reporting to support the wider business as required.
Skills:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a finance role; agency experience desirable but not essential.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and keen to learn.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling).
- Experience with Monday or similar project/finance systems would be an advantage.
- Studying towards CIMA / ACA / ACCA (or equivalent).
